how can you be a business that is supportive of neurodivergent people?
this is not an exhaustive list, neither is it a list that tells you anything about one particular neurodivergent person. it is a list of things for you to reflect on as a business providing a service.
~ what are the noise levels in your business like? is there any way you can damped down any echo-ey spaces? could you have times of low/music? can clients book silent appointments?
~ how clear are your menus? if it would be too expensive to replace them have you thought about printing easier to read ones (with a sans serif font, bigger text, no images or colour? have you thought about printing them on to different coloured paper? or having coloured filters easily available?
~ are there multiple ways in which people can book in? do you have a clear way in which to do this online?
~ do you have a walk through video or a visual storyboard of your premises? is this something you could make available?
~ do your staff have any training (by an actually neurodiverse person?)?
please also note that you do not need to have done any of these things in order to be neurodivergent friendly. the best way you can do that it just to be respectful of all clients…
